Moving to a new place means being open-minded to new things. I just moved from Athens, Georgia to Providence, Rhode Island. I don’t know if I’ll ever love a city as much as I loved Athens, but I’m keeping an open mind in my exploration of a new city. The one amazing thing both cities have in common: great food.
I’ve been trying new restaurants as often as possible to create a mental list of go-to places. I’m not that picky, but I tend to eat at places that are reasonably-priced and vegetarian-friendly. Here’s a rundown of some of my favorite tastes thus far:
Breakfast
Three Sisters: Go for the caffeine boost, stay for the amazing breakfast burritos
Tea and Javas: Best croissants in town (these bad boys have saved me from many-a-hangover)
Lunch/Dinner
Angelo’s Civita Farnese Restaurant: This authentic Italian restaurant will serve you a giant portion of some of the best food you’ve ever had
by Chloe: Legitimately some of the best food, not to mention vegan food, I’ve ever had
Den Den: This place has great service, incredible food, and reasonable prices
Lim’s: A fantastic neighborhood restaurant for takeout or dining in
Pasta Beach: A little pricier, but absolutely scrumptious and perfectly cooked every time
The District: Their salads are seriously amazing, but the greasy stuff is seriously worth it!
The Malted Barley: Perfect spot for a light appetizer or a full, carb-filled meal–always with a good brew and fun atmosphere
Tom’s Bao Bao: Go here for a quick, light, and yummy lunch
Veggie Fun: The best thing about their menu is that everything is vegan and delicious (yay for guilt-free dining!)
Viva Mexico: They’re serving up reasonably-priced, cheesy, rich food; go on Tuesday’s for a great deal on tacos!
Dessert
10 Prime Steak and Sushi: This place has some amazing hidden gems, including the banana bread pudding and apple oatmeal crisp
KNEAD Donuts: By far the best donuts I’ve ever had, but be careful not to become addicted
Pastiche: Small dining area, but don’t worry: you can take their amazing desserts to go!
